Project Title: “Addressing concerns with time-to-event trials through re-analysis of past trials”
Clinical trials for epilepsy are critical to developing new treatments, but they are slow, expensive, and difficult to recruit participants for. Dr. Kerr and team will use data from more than 15 prior trials to ask if they can make trials shorter, especially for participants not responding to blinded treatment. Specifically, they will see if both the benefit and safety of treatment can be determined if participants only stay on blinded treatment until their post-treatment seizure count matches their pre-treatment monthly seizure frequency.
