Crowdfund for Cures
In the mid-20th century, donations for medical research on polio were collected in tin cans passed in movie theaters. Together, researchers and the public surmounted polio.
Today, the American Brain Foundation is bringing researchers and the public together, online, to solve the mysteries behind the brain diseases affecting 1 in 6 people through crowdfunding. Crowdfunding is today’s version of passing the tin can.
The American Brain Foundation’s website is the world’s first neuroscience crowdfunding platform bringing researchers and donors together to campaign for support for research on brain disease. We invite you to sort through the projects on our site and give directly to those you care most about. One hundred percent of your donation to a project goes directly to that project. Find research projects to support by clicking here.
Any researcher investigating one or more diseases of the brain and nervous system is invited to qualify their project for crowdfunding through a two-part online application process. Projects are scientifically-vetted by members of the American Academy of Neurology. Project budgets may not exceed $100,000. If you are interested in submitting a project, click here for more information. If your project qualifies for crowdfunding, the American Brain Foundation will work with you to launch a fundraising campaign to support it.
